Resisting the Frenzy – A Timely Reminder

Applying to College, Building Your College List

As seniors collect acceptance and denial letters, and juniors are gearing up to dive into their college search, Frank Brunei from the New York Times parenting blog gives us a timely reminder that the college you attend does not define who you are. This is a highly recommended read for parents in the midst of (or about to begin) the college application process.

The blog is actually an adaptation of an essay out of Brunei’s upcoming book, “Where You Go Is Not Who You’ll Be: An Antidote to the College Admissions Mania.”  It isn’t out yet, but I’ll one of the first to read it when it does – any voice that encourages reason in the midst of the college admissions frenzy is one that I love to hear!
